his is totally but a rescue. They threw them out from their house. And they were doing nothing. When the babies were older, the mum would have taken them out. The best would have been to feed the mum and let her stay. How was it okay that she went into the other backyard? What if there were dogs, or no place to hide. This is terrible!!! Terrible!! Time to provide/donate cat or dog houses to give then a safe alternative. Obviously set somewhere safe and secluded, release them in with food, and promptly leave.
This was absolutely NOT a rescue! They removed the unwanted family of Raccoons, and in doing so, put them at risk. It was done in broad daylight, which could have left the babies open to predators. The moral thing to do would have been to wait a few weeks for them to leave on their own, and then fix the hole in the deck! I sincerely hope they found it to an alternative nest safely! I’m not sure making a mum and bubbies homeless equals successful rescue. They were living under a outside balcony, it’s not like they were living in the kitchen cupboard
