---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A very rare thing to see on social media,someone who understands the situation therefore uses self-motivation to get something done instead of sitting behind a computer or phone and just bitching. Thats the spirit! I'm so sick and tired if all the folks who just want to complain about how the city doesn't keep its spaces perfectly manicured in the middle of a crisis. This is the kind of stuff that makes me love Edmonton. People who come together for one another and ask for nothing in return but a thank you. There is an Anthony Bourdain "parts unknown" about Detroit that is an interesting see. The city is almost or is bankrupt and the city can't afford to do much of anything including fire services.Much of downtown is vacant. Sure opened my eyes. Google Stockton California....they went willy silly with spending, (like building a brand new arena) and when bankrupt as a city. This is wonderful that people are so willing to help out, including me, but this is not sustainable in the long run.
The city needs a new mayor! One that doesn’t hand out our money to his friends businesses to line their pockets with! I like to see people take care our parks. I need to put a sign in the park front of my house because people just throw their garbage of food in the park to feed birds and i catch someone throw is garbage trust me he pick his garbage back when i told him that was disgusting.
Understandable if they didn't hand out money for e-bikes, solar panels, etc. Every city project is mismanaged resulting in huge overspends. They are not paying salaries to thousands of employees. We are still paying property taxes. So where exactly is the problem? Mowing every 21 days? When does their calendar year start? Grass has not been cut once this spring!
