I had an anthropology teacher once who would tell us of his many adventures on peyote and about his only pet - a puffer fish - that he bought in Mexico that loved to be pet. I miss that teacher. He was the best. And we wonder why baby dolphins, young sharks, and infant bison are dying because of human contact? Been to Oahu, divers and snorkeler's feed them. He's not a magical Disney fish coming for a scratch. He wants food. When you get into the water, you literally get mobbed by fish . An ogo bloom every 6 months or so provides fresh seaweed. There is a group of turtles that feeds along the wall every morning and the huge fields allowed my Aussie Lani to do her frisbee performance every morning. A great park to walk in and enjoy!
I need this right now. Our trip is all booked and paid for in Oct. Starting to feel doubtful. Was there in May 2017 for our grandson’s wedding. A magical day on a paradise island. Love it! Beautiful!Been there many times! Hope to be back by end of summer,if they ever end the tourist quarantine!!!Was suppose to be there by end of May,had to cancel trip! The Beach is my happy place everything view. Easy is like is vacation in. Good momeries are the only possessions that stay with us forever in. Big Island Sunrise! Awesome. The Big Island is beautiful with waterfalls, black and green beaches and beautiful scenery. The Volcano is a must see on the island. All fun and games till the beak in that mouth takes off a finger... Super cute. If you ever go to Maui, go eat at a seaside restaurant and look out the window. They come up dockside like adorable ocean pigeons and hang out waiting for food. Isnt that bad for the fish tho because of its scale ? I highly doubt you should pet a fish especially one that is toxic.
Please do NOT teach people that it is Ok to touch the wildlife. Fish have a slime layer that can be damaged causing them harm. Every time a puffer puffs up it shortens its life. The next one people come across may not be so inviting to being handled. Or may be venomous. These are wild creatures and are not there for our amusement.
