Well.. when Congress tells you how much you can charge for services and every one of your buildings is massively over built as a monument to some living or dead politician...you really cannot be held accountable for the bottom line. UPS delivers mail, Fed Express et al carriers deliver parcels. This would b the way I would re form the mail industry. It is 50% done this way now. The majority of mail esp. parcel and O/S mail is contracted to these non USPS carriers currently. Remember “ Castaway: Tom Hanks” Fed Express” plane. Hope my memory is correct
Yes ! Their service sucks and they're not professional to deal with. But what company in their right mind would want to take over that nightmare of a mess?! Maybe they should have to prepay pension for 75 years because it’s bankrupted the system paying people who are not even employed.
Plus we see what shipping rates with fed ex / ups are, eliminating the costs control the the usps places on them would just raise everyone’s costs and slow down their efficiency. Not a good idea. First step would be to raise rates. Especially on junk mail that everybody complains about. Also on parcels.
