Yeah as really Sean Taylor loss of his life there really really was on the team's mind proving there was more than just football there Then Jim Zorn came in...... that’s where it feel apart. Topped off with a little Gruden. Definitely miss Cooley and Portis. Both were hardnose and talented. Season sucked but it was worth it to get rid of Brucifer and the rest of the incompetent morons they had running the team!
With all due respect to that championship team I have heard that they lost one game that year and it was to rio grande city. Is that true. Mercedes Tigers beat them in the 2nd game of the season before they started their run to the State Championship. Attended college with Oscar and other members of that team from 1965-69. Congratulations to them. Donna Redskins won the 1961 state title. PSJA high school made it to the state title game in 62 and 63. Didn't win either game but the fact that they got there two years in a row is astonishing.
