Oh, the web of unintended consequences will be too complex to even comprehend. Of course those with the least capacity for critical thinking and comprehension will call for increased government control and support to save them from it. This is human nature and the reason any government handouts need to be short term. Most people would rather get free money and not work, I’d given a choice. It’s also the reason EDD asks you to lol for work and terminate your benefits if you turn down a job offer. (Of course, you have to be honest about the fact that your turned down work - which I suppose people are reluctant to do.)
Maybe people are just really tired of watching lifetime welfare recipients on Jerry Springer in designer shoes, and believe it is their turn. If a furloughed employee does not return to work, the employee could be asked to payback past benefits and would not get paid any future benefits. Democrats knew this would happen. They want unemployment hight into the election.Hope they enjoy higher taxes. Essential (grocery etc). Have to take the risk and will also get to pay the high taxes too. So dumb.
