My wife and I absolutely loved our time on Hydra. Would never have known about it without Rick Steves. It’s a gem! At the end of each school year, my husband (elementary school teacher) showed slide shows from our many trips to his students, making it a culture, geography lesson. One parent said he learned more from his son then he did in college. Rick, keep it going. EDUCATE
I have so many memories of Greece. Went to the island of Ikaria to visit a friend's mother. Did not know her name, just 'Mitera' (mother) Finally mentioned her son's name, found her. The people on Ikaria are mentioned in Blue Zone book for having a longer life span. Mitera was 102 when she passed. These are poor people, but they walk every where, up hill & down.
